FAQs for Mom’s Table Home Cooking

What is SPAGHETTI PIE?

Much like lasagna.  We form a pie crust from seasoned spaghetti, then layer ricotta, sauce and mozzarella on top.  It is available in meat or vegetarian varieties and is our most popular item.

What others are your best sellers?

Our CHICKEN SALAD and BRUNSWICK STEW run close behind SPAGHETTI PIE.  All are available year-round.

Does the menu change?

Yes.  About half of the items remain all year, but we do publish Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter variations.

Do you have foods for special diets?

Not as such, but we don’t add a lot of salt and use low-fat ingredients when available.

What about gluten-free foods?

Yes, several of our menu items are naturally gluten-free:  BRUNSWICK STEW, CHICKEN SALAD, SALMON PATTIES, ENCHILADAS, some veggie dishes and some Winter SOUPS.

Where do you get your recipes?

All are dishes that were popular in past decades.  Many are what Joanne’s mother and mother-in-law made; others are derived from her collection of cookbooks from the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s.

Can I eat in?

Not really.  Our concept is built around “pick it up-heat it up-done!”  Of course, we do have forks for that CHICKEN SALAD!

Do I have to order in advance?

Not at all.  We always have things in the cooler for you to stop in and pick up, but if you want something particular, or a large quantity, please do call a day or two in advance.

How long have you been in business?

We opened the shop on Canton St. in August of 2008 – probably not the smartest time to start a business, but as the saying goes, ”ignorance is bliss”.  Joanne catered, both independently and for other companies for several years prior.

Are you in other places?

Not yet, but we have everything set up to franchise for anyone who likes good food, loves people and is willing to work – the basic requirements.
